subtle existence

You are my friends, you are my family. You’re more than this.

I had a very good weekend…and a much needed weekend. I took a lot of time off from work, which probably wasn’t the most responsible move in the world, but I’m glad I did. Sunday was full of high speed chases, violent mosh pits, and body mutilation, except not really. We left Angwin at 1:30 am and drove to Redding. An hour into the drive, I of course get pulled over… but the ticket ended up being 60 in a 55, which in retrospect, I totally overreacted about =p But tickets in general piss me off. We finally made it to Redding around 5 am and crashed until 10:30. Then, we went to this Rec center at a park where Broadway Calls was doing a video shoot for their new release. It was pretty much the epitome of awesome, and I had tons of fun jumping around, getting pushed in every direction, body surfing, and getting kicked in the head twice (no, seriously, it was totally sweet lol). Afterwards, we grabbed some food, stopped by Best Buy, pierced my lip (just because…and no, not at Best Buy), and headed back to PUC.

It was probably one of my favorite weekends…and not just because I got to experience a video shoot and see Broadway Calls again (although that was pretty sweet too). The thing is, I know you’re supposed to say that your boyfriend is your best friend, but for a long time he has just been “my boyfriend”. But, the more time we’ve spent together, talking on road trips and doing things that we like and sharing experiences with one another, I have really begun to feel that he is my best friend. I’m not trying to sound all mushy and don’t want to be, but talking to him on the way home from our 21 hour journey made me realize that. And thats why this weekend was awesome.
